As our family gathers at this time of Thanksgiving, we sincerely wish to express to you the gratitude we have in our hearts for your loving care of our Aunt Helen Harris who passed away last March... More. While some of you may have never known her, we recognize that the work you do every day often goes unnoticed and we hope that we would consider this a “thank you” from all the people you serve.- Jane Ellrod, Donald, Sarah, Eric & Jody Schutt
Helen was placed in your care after a severe fall and after some time in another facility. We know she had become discouraged in the facility and embittered about her circumstances and loss of freedom, which made her move to Sylvan challenging. It was a difficult transition and we did not really know if she would come out of it and become the Aunt Helen we always knew and loved.
After out phone calls and visits, we began to see that old spark come back. She told us “they like me here” (at Sylvan) and she also thought the food was great and looked forward to her dinners for the first time. Our family realized that you loved her even when she did not act very lovable and were able to give her the will to live again.
For our family, your wonderful care gave us great peace of mind that she was in good hands. We were grateful for the ease we had in contacting you and your response to our concerns. Your care impacted the quality of our aunt’s life and also flowed over unto all of ours as well. We wish to thank you so much for the quiet work you do behind the scenes! We realize you often serve people who can least express their gratitude and often soon pass on without any thanks at all. Please know we will never forget your kindness to our Aunt Helen.
In His love and thanksgiving,
