Short Term Stays or Respite Care
Sylvan Crossings offers short-term stays for seniors who may require assistance after a hospital visit, during an illness or when family members or caregivers need a break.
If you are caring for an aging loved one and need temporary assistance, consider short-term stay at a Sylvan Crossings. Designed for a few days up to 28 days, our short term stays are perfect for family members and/or caregivers are away on a vacation, business trip or require a short break from caring for the senior in their life. Short term stays are also an option for seniors needing extra-assistance after a hospital visit or during an illness.
Short term stays are also ideal for perspective residents thinking about moving into a Sylvan Crossings home, but want to try us out first before making that life changing decision. We invite seniors to try us out in order to discover how welcoming and rewarding the Sylvan Crossings lifestyle can be.
Prior to staying with us, we bring seniors and family members together to complete an assessment. This assessment helps to determine the appropriate services and care for each individual. Upon admission, seniors enjoy fully furnished suites, complete with a full bath, an emergency call system and many other of life’s little luxuries. Short stay guests receive all of the services available to long term residents. Sylvan Crossings will customize our service plan to provide the appropriate combination of services.
Hospice Care
Sylvan Crossings embraces the hospice philosophy of ensuring the right to dignity and comfort during the final phase of our resident’s lives. Hospice care is a holistic and compassionate approach to the end-of-life with the emphasis on caring, not curing. It involves symptom management, emotional and spiritual support. Care is tailored to the resident’s needs and wishes, while providing support to the family members and loved ones in the process.
Working with preferred providers, Sylvan Crossings makes it possible for our residents with end-of-life needs to receive high-quality hospice care while remaining at Sylvan Crossings.
Sylvan Crossings Memory Care
Visit our Stevens Point or Appleton facilities specializing in caring for residents who are in the advanced stages of dementia. The staff at Sylvan Crossings is specially trained to understand what it's like to live with Alzheimer's and dementia at every stage of the illness. We know the importance of listening and offering a smile or words of encouragement to help ease fear and confusion. In some cases, the type of specialized attention we give may help slow the progression of Alzheimer's.
